When ordering your new Nelo you have several options to consider:

1 - model

Most paddlers order the current sprint model but some prefer past models like the Vanquish I or II. 
Nelo will produce whichever model you prefer.  The Quattro, Nelo's newest sprint model,
is now available to order.  All models are the same price; prices vary according to construction.

2 - construction

Nelo produces their sprint boats in 3 different constructions: F, G and SCS.  All are carbon boats
with a foam/PVC core; the difference is the amount of carbon used.  The more expensive the model,
the more carbon there is, making it a more rigid boat.

Most models of K1, other than the Vanquish, are now available in fibreglass (A1) construction.  These are provided as low cost alternatives for clubs and are not meant to compete with Nelo's top quality constructions.  Please note that the components (seats and rudders) included in the price may be older and lower cost versions of those currently used in the Vanquish models.  You may request the most current components but in some cases, they will not fit the fibreglass boats.  If they can be provided you will be charged for the price difference.

There are different constructions for marathon boats: 

WWR - carbon kevlar w/PVC core
E - carbon w/ PVC core
These are not quite as rigid as the sprint constructions but the kevlar gives them more durability.

3 - size (applicable to K1s only)

M -   up to 75 kg (165 lb)
ML - 70-80 kg (155-175 lb)
L -   75-85 kg (165-185 lb)
XXL - over 85 kg (185 lb)

Please note that these are guidelines only; paddlers should try out different sizes before making a final decision.

4 - size (applicable to C1s only)

Vanquish III-2 - up to 80 kg (175 lb) - beam of 34 cm (15")
Quattro L - up to 80 kg (175 lb) - beam of 44 cm (19.6")
Quattro XL - over 80 kg (175 lb) - beam of 44 cm (19.6")
Quattro XXL - over 90 kg (200 lb) - beam of 44 cm (19.6")

5 - colour and/or design

Until 8 years ago Nelo produced its boats in yellow only.  Different colours became available in the
early 00s, and in 2005 they introduced a design service which has proved extremely popular among
paddlers wishing to personalize their boats.

colour or design it's best to submit it to us electronically when ordering so the factory can copy it exactly. 

Check the Nelo website for standard colour options; these gelcoats have been rigidly tested for durability,
including UV ray protection. If you want a specialized colour please provide the RAL code with your order;
Nelo will do their best to reproduce it, but cannot guarantee its durability over the long term. 

Occasionally the factory cannot produce the design or colour exactly as you want and for this reason
does not guarantee a 100% match. 

Your choice of colour and/or design is included in the price of SCS boats. Please note that Nelo is limited
in their ability to reproduce designs on F and G constructions as well as fibreglass and marathon boats;
in addition, there is usually a surcharge for special colours and designs on these boats.

6 - options for fittings (applicable to kayaks only, excluding fibreglass models)

Seat - swivel, high back (Nelo), regular or ultra low
Footrest - carbon, available in full size but can be reduced to regular size
Rudder - Fin is the normal sprint rudder provided

7 - extras

Some extras you might want to consider are a boat cover (included in the price of an SCS model), footstrap
or pullbar (for kayaks).

Please note that in rare instances a boat does not meet Nelo's quality production standards upon completion at the factory.  In these cases Nelo will not send the boat; they will make a replacement and send it on the next available container. 
Also, although we do our best to estimate arrival dates, containers can be held up due to unforeseen circumstances completely beyond our control.

For these reasons we strongly urge you to have a backup if you are counting on having your new boat for a particular event such as a spring training camp.  

We cannot be responsible for providing you with an interim boat in these circumstances.

Payment:  a 70% deposit must accompany each boat order; the balance is due upon arrival of the boat. 
The deposit can be made via on-line bank transfer, wire transfer or certified cheque.

Prices do not include delivery from Lake Placid, NY. Boats picked up by a customer at our shop
in Lake Placid are subject to 7.75% New York State sales tax. Boats shipped out of state are not
subject to NYS tax.

Boat covers and choice of colour/design are included ONLY with SCS models;
they are extra for F and G constructions.

Ordering:  if you would like to place an order, email us with the details, along with your address and any
questions you might have.   We will email back an invoice including the price and payment details.

Delivery: Please check the website regularly for information about the next container delivery and for updates
to the delivery schedule.  Paddlers are encouraged to pick up their boats as soon as possible
due to storage limitations. 

We can assist in making shipping arrangements to Florida or to western Canada or U.S. if that is more
convenient; payment for shipping to another destination must be received before the boat can be released.
